Community Summit 2024 in San Antonio, Texas, USA is fast approaching. David Musgrave from Winthrop Development Consultants will be running two extremely valuable training courses and now it is time to register.
The conference will be held on the 13th to 17th October 2024. There will be pre-conference training in the week before, from 7th to 11th October 2024, as well as Academy days before and after the conference itself.
As Community Summit 2024 in San Antonio, Texas, USA on 13-17th October 2024 approaches, Dynamic Communities have released a survey to get an insight into the Microsoft Dynamics GP Community.
The survey will close on 30th August 2024, so spread the word and complete the survey before it closes.
I am excited to announce that as well as the Dexterity Training (during the week before the conference), there will also be GP Power Tools training offered at Academy at Summit in the days before Community Summit in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
The training will be presented as a single full day course on Sunday 13th October 2024, running from 8:00am to 5:00pm with lunch included.
We always have lots of new functionality and enhancements to cover with the release the latest builds of GP Power Tools.
I will once again be running the 5-day Dexterity Fundamentals for Dynamics GP bootcamp training class in the week before the Community Summit conference in San Antonio, Texas, USA in October. Please register for the training now and plan to be in San Antonio for the week before the conference.
Dexterity is the development environment that Microsoft Dynamics GP is built on and the best tool to use for any customization to the user interface of the product. Knowledge of Dexterity is vital for anyone customizing Dynamics GP even when using other development tools such as GP Power Tools – Developer Tools module, Visual Studio Tools (C# or VB .Net) or “End of Life” VBA (Visual Basic for Application).
At Community Summit 2023 in Charlotte, NC, USA we had a session on the future of Dynamics GP immediately after the GP General Session. The Dynamics GP Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades session interviewed customers, partners and ISVs to discuss their commitment to the Microsoft Dynamics GP platform.
During the session there was a quick live poll, as well as the link for a more detailed survey was shared.

In April 2023, Microsoft announced that Microsoft Dynamics GP will not be available for sale to new customers after April 2026. While the announcement has very little effect on the existing customers, there have been lots of discussions on the future of Microsoft Dynamics GP and its client base.
Microsoft has indicated that they will be supporting the product to 2028 & Beyond. That “& Beyond” clause will be very dependent on what the existing customers using GP do. If the existing customer base continues to use GP and pay their annual enhancement fees, Microsoft’s management will be able to justify continued support beyond 2028 due to the income stream.

I have been meaning to write this wrap up article for the Community Summit 2023 conference in Charlotte, NC, USA for the couple of weeks.
After the conference, I spent two weeks in the UK visiting family and also cycling 160km in three days across the entire country, coast to coast at its narrowest point along Hadrian’s Way (Cycle Route 72) which roughly follows Hadrian’s Wall.
Community Summit 2023 is over for another year, but your Microsoft Dynamics GP learning opportunities are still coming. Next week, the Great Plains User Conference (GPUC) will be held at the home of Dynamics GP, the Microsoft campus in Fargo, North Dakota, USA. The conference is open to all GP users globally.
If Fargo, is too far away, the conference organizers, Implementation Specialists, have also thoughtfully offered a virtual option. However, I can guarantee that you will get the most learning and networking out of the conference if you can be there in person.
While at Community Summit 2023 in Charlotte, NC, USA, Dynamic Communities announced the Community Summit Legends for 2023.
