Overview

Visual Studio Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics GP is a Dexterity integrated software tool which contains an Application Programming Interface (API) that can be called from Visual Studio development system using Visual Basic or Visual C# development languages to integrate with functionality normally only available in Microsoft Dynamics GP via the Dexterity development environment, such as menu navigation and area pages. Build 15 adds a suite of over 260 helper functions.

Build 18 adds the Custom Forms module which allows Developers to create new Dexterity based custom forms. The custom forms are web client compatible and include all standard GP functionality. You can use these custom forms from Visual Studio Tools, Dexterity or GP Power Tools.

Form types available include:

  • Blank Forms
  • Dialog Forms (with 1, 2 or 3 buttons)
  • Setup Forms (with table)
  • Maintenance Forms (with table, matching Lookup, Inquiry form and report)
  • Maintenance Forms with Lines (with tables, matching Lookup, Inquiry form and report)

The toolkit is based on the product previously known as Menus for Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP. However, to maintain compatibility with existing installations and projects, file and object names have not been changed.

IMPORTANT: The Menus and Helper Functions modules for this subscription product has been provided at no charge for almost 20 years as David Musgrave’s personal gift to the Microsoft Dynamics GP Community. All we ask is that the Customer Contact Details and the software itself is kept up to date. We cannot support old builds with known issues, especially for a product that costs us to develop, support and provide licensing for. From the start of 2027, a small subscription fee will be charged for these base modules (see details).
