In just under a month’s time my wife, Jennifer, and I will be flying from Perth via Sydney and Dallas/Fort Worth to Nashville, Tennessee, USA for two weeks at the Community Summit 2026 conference.
During the first week (Monday 5th to Friday 9th October 2026), I will be running Dexterity Fundamentals training at the massive Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville. Then on Sunday 11th October, I will be running Academy training for GP Power Tools.
Once the conference starts you will find us at Expo Booth 321. Swing by and say G’day.
Read on for more information on the two training classes and the sessions I am presenting or assisting with.
#VSIT FAQ Why am I getting invoiced for or being asked to update Visual Studio Integration Toolkit

Starting in August 2026, the planned changes to the subscription model for 2027 for Visual Studio Integration Toolkit (VSIT) have been taking effect.
This article explains how those changes effect customers and partners of the product and hopefully answers any and all questions you might have. This article has been added to the VSIT Portal: https://winthropdc.com/VSIT
#VSIT Visual Studio Integration Toolkit build 21.1 released

Winthrop Development Consultants is pleased to announce Build 21 of Visual Studio Integration Toolkit (VSIT) for Microsoft Dynamics GP was released on 21-Apr-2026.
This build includes minor fixes and support for the subscription model changes coming in 2027.
#MSDynGP The Knights of GP – Commitment beyond 2031

Winthrop Development Consultants is fully committed to the continued support of Microsoft Dynamics GP and its ecosystem. Our ISV products are only compatible with Dynamics GP and have been created to solve pain points and missing features as requested by the GP community.
While Microsoft has stated that they will cease support for Dynamics GP in 2031, it is important to note that “End of Support” does not equate to “End of Life”. There is plenty of life left in the product and, with the support of the community, GP will live on well past the official end of support. A driving force in the community support will be the Knights of GP.
#VSIT Visual Studio Integration Toolkit Subscription Changes for 2027

Visual Studio Integration Toolkit provides Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP developers adding functionality that is normally only available to Dexterity developers.
For almost 20 years the application menus feature has been available at no charge as Menus for Visual Studio Tools from Microsoft and later Visual Studio Integration Toolkit from Winthrop Development Consultants. This was David Musgrave’s gift to the Microsoft Dynamics GP community. Sadly, as the cost of maintaining and supporting the product increases, it has become necessary to charge a small fee for subscriptions starting in 2027.
#GPPT Implementing Custom Forms using GP Power Tools 2

When GP Power Tools Build 32 was released, it added powerful Custom Table functionality which allows for a developer to create a custom table definition and have that table created in each company automatically. The table can then be used in a similar fashion to a native Dexterity table using a suite of Custom Table Buffer Helper Functions.
This article updates the original article (below), which explained how to create a Custom Forms Module demonstration project, to use Custom Tables instead of SQL Tables for a much faster and simpler implementation.
#MSDynGP Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.8 – October 2025 has released

The next version of Microsoft Dynamics GP has been released, and it contains more new features and bug fixes.
Winthrop Development Consultants has already updated its products for this Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.8 – October 2025 release. They are now built against the final build and so are no longer beta builds.
