Early in the morning of Wednesday 16th May, my wife, Jennifer, and I will be getting onto a flight to South Africa to attend the GPUG Amplify South Africa 2018 conference being held on the 21st and 22nd of May 2018 in Johannesburg.
We are looking forward to catching up with friends in the Microsoft Dynamics GP community in Africa and also with the other international guests coming to the conference.

Last year, I went to Johannesburg, South Africa for the ReigniteGP conference organised by Pieter Cornelius from Braintree with the support of Dynamics Africa. The conference was fantastic and it was great to get to know the African GP Community.
This year the conference is back and it is better. Now working with Dynamic Communities the conference has been re-launched as GPUG Amplify South Africa.

With the conference over and everyone leaving Nashville, all that was left was the journey home. It was surprising how quickly the hotel changed all the banners for the next event!
I managed to organise a late checkout, as my flight was in the afternoon, allowing me to sleep in for the first time in two weeks. The journey was smooth and uneventful and would make a boring blog post. All I can say it was great to get picked up at Perth Airport by my two sons and get back to the real world.
The third and final day of the conference had arrived. Everyone was a little slower after the excitement of the previous day and the partying during the downtown experience last night.
Mariano and I had two more session to present in the morning and then we would be free to relax a little.
Wow, what a morning so far.
Apart from the stress of trying to get Leslie to the GPUG Community General Session, watching the emotional rollercoaster she went on was amazing and draining at the same time. I am so thrilled that I can call Leslie Vail, MVP and GPUG All Star, my friend.

I will now fill you in on some behind the scenes happenings, that make the events of the morning of day two of the conference all the more interesting and enjoyable.
Welcome to GPUG Summit 2017 Day 1 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
Now that all the pre conference GPUG Academy training, and community and partner meetings have been completed, the main part of the conference starts today.
I know that we are approaching the end of November and that GPUG Summit 2017 was in October, but I had been working flat out to get the new builds for my products released.
Now that I have achieved that goal (so pleased to have that completed), I wanted to share some more of my experiences at GPUG Summit in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
So here I am in Nashville, Tennessee USA where I should be listening to music and relaxing. But that is not to be.

I have already been in town for a week as I came in on Friday 29th September in preparation for the Dexterity Bootcamp training which started on Monday 2nd October.
Following on from the article I posted in July: Introducing the Community Leader Zone, I am sad to announce that the project has been cancelled.
Last Friday, I received an email from the Technical Communities alias at Microsoft notifying me of the cancellation of the project. I have included the email below so you can see what it said.

GPUG Summit 2017 will be in the home of country music. The conference is being held on the 10th to 13th October 2017 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN, USA.
I am please to announce that there will be GP Power Tools training offered by the GPUG Academy on the Monday before GPUG Summit 2017, in Nashville, Tennessee.
We will be running Introduction to GP Power Tools in the morning and Advanced GP Power Tools Tricks and Tips in the afternoon of Monday 9th October 2017.
As GPUG Summit 2017 approaches, the process of selecting the new GPUG All-Stars for 2017 has started.
Nominations for your GPUG All-Stars are open and waiting for you. You must complete the survey before 28th July when the survey closes and the next voting phase begins.
