Bob McAdam has announced that voting for the GPUG All Stars for 2019 is open from now until 30th August 2019.
There are 25 end users and 34 partners nominated and awaiting your votes for this year’s GPUG All Star award. Think of who of the nominees is out there actively promoting Microsoft Dynamics GP for the great product it is and is helping others with blog posts and helpful responses to forum questions.

Think of people in the GPUG community who are out there actively promoting Microsoft Dynamics GP for the great product it is and who are helping others with blog posts and helpful responses to forum questions.
We are closing in on the start of the User Group Summit Australia in Melbourne with only 50 days to go before the conference, which runs between Wednesday 21st and Friday 23rd August 2019. There is also a pre-conference Partner only day on Tuesday the 20th August 2019.
I am really looking forward to this conference as it is the first time there has been a User Group event in Australia and the first time for many years that there has been any event for Microsoft Dynamics GP partners and customers.

Yesterday was the final day of the User Group World Tour 2019 conference in Johannesburg. It was a fantastic two days jammed packed with lots of sessions and plenty of “advanced networking opportunities” *.
For many years I have dreamed of having a User Summit event in Australia, so that the Asia Pacific region could get some conference “love” without having to travel to the USA. That dream is now a reality with the Summit Australia 2019 conference in Melbourne, Australia.

I am pleased to announce that there will be GP Power Tools training offered by the GPUG Academy during the training days before User Group Summit 2019 in Orlando, Florida, USA.
We have previously run this training as two half day courses, but it worked best when students attended both the morning and afternoon sessions. So, this year we have decided to run the training as a single full day course on Monday 14th October 2019.
We have lots of new functionality to cover with the releases of Build 26 and Build 27 of GP Power Tools this year.

You might have seen my posts on Twitter and Facebook recently about my new toy mini laptop PC, the crowd funded GPD Pocket 2.
I have been burnt before with crowd funded projects (I supported 3 smartwatches and only one make it to production and it under-delivered 🙁 ), so I was wary of getting involved again. However, this was the second generation of the GPD Pocket and demo devices had already been delivered to a number of YouTube reviewers. I felt fairly safe to get involved with crowd funding again, as this would give me a discount and get the device earlier.
In August, I went on my annual pilgrimage to Fabulous Fargo for the Microsoft Dynamics GP Tech Conference 2018. The event was held at the Microsoft Campus in Fargo, ND, USA on the 20th to 22nd August 2018.
While smaller than previous years it was still well attended and everyone who was there found it worthwhile, both for the technical knowledge and product information provided as well as for the social and networking opportunities.
The GPUG Summit 2018 Conference is fast approaching. It is being held on October 15-18, 2018 at the Phoenix Convention Center, Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

About seven weeks ago, my good friend, fellow MVP & GPUG All-Star, blogger and past co-presenter, Shawn Dorward‘s life was turned upside down when his eighteen year old son, Taylor was involved in a drowning accident.
Thanks to Taylor’s friends and the emergency teams, Taylor survived but has suffered significant brain damage. He is now on the long road to recovery and making great progress.
