All that is left to do is beta testing, documentation and a couple of minor features and then it can be released to the Microsoft Dynamics GP community in time for the upcoming conference season for 2019.

David Meego - Click for blog homepageYesterday GP Power Tools build 26 was released. This build has numerous enhancements to existing functionality as well as some awesome new features. Automatic Logout has been enhanced further in builds 27 through to build 29.

One of the features that has been requested by the community for a while and is now included in the GP Power Tools – Administrator Tools module is Automatic Logout.

The best thing is that all existing GP Power Tools sites get all the new features for free just by updating their system to the current build. Download from here.

David Meego - Click for blog homepageEvery now and then a support request comes in where a customer has received an error message referencing the ‘MBS_ScreenShot_Forms’ table. These support requests are usually redirected from Microsoft’s support team. The error is caused by environmental issues and are generated from GP Power Tools (or its predecessor, the Support Debugging Tool).

David Meego - Click for blog homepageWinthrop Development Consultants is pleased to announce Build 10 of Batch Posting Service Toolkit (BPST) for Microsoft Dynamics GP was released on 20-Dec-2018.

This build incorporates a new suite of service procedures which allow for creating, editing and deleting batches. Microsoft Dynamics GP offers Service Based Architecture (SBA) web services for adding transactions to existing batches, but provides no method to create the batches. Batch Posting Service Toolkit now provides that functionality as well as its existing posting functionality to complete the process from beginning to end.

As well as the enhancements to the Menu Navigation functionality and the addition of support for custom Area Pages, Build 15 adds a new Helper functions module with over 220 functions.

This build is the result of a month’s development effort and is why you have not heard much from me on the blog recently.

I have been burnt before with crowd funded projects (I supported 3 smartwatches and only one make it to production and it under-delivered 🙁 ), so I was wary of getting involved again. However, this was the second generation of the GPD Pocket and demo devices had already been delivered to a number of YouTube reviewers. I felt fairly safe to get involved with crowd funding again, as this would give me a discount and get the device earlier.

This is something that is easily solved as a Self Service script using the GP Power Tools – Developer Tools module. In fact, I had already created a solution for the same request for a customer in Australia using GP Power Tools. I spoke to the customer, Anand, and he said he was happy for me to post the code on the blog.

This article assumes that your GP Power Tools or Batch Posting Service Toolkit subscriptions are current. Visual Studio Integration Toolkit has free modules for which their subscription is always current.

David Meego - Click for blog homepageAbout seven weeks ago, my good friend, fellow MVP & GPUG All-Star, blogger and past co-presenter, Shawn Dorward‘s life was turned upside down when his eighteen year old son, Taylor was involved in a drowning accident.

Thanks to Taylor’s friends and the emergency teams, Taylor survived but has suffered significant brain damage. He is now on the long road to recovery and making great progress.
