#GPUGSummit 2017 Pre Conference GPUG Academy and Meetings
I know that we are approaching the end of November and that GPUG Summit 2017 was in October, but I had been working flat out to get the new builds for my products released.
Now that I have achieved that goal (so pleased to have that completed), I wanted to share some more of my experiences at GPUG Summit in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
#VSIT Visual Studio Integration Toolkit build 12 hotfix released
On the 14th November 2017, a new build of Visual Studio Integration Toolkit was released to coincide with Winthrop Development Consultants taking back distribution of the product from Mekorma.
This new build, dated 14-Nov-2017, includes a new registration system which allows partners and customers to register the product for free without needing to contact anyone in advance to obtain a licence. However, if the registration is already recorded on the registration server, the keys are automatically populated.
The build also includes the ability to let the administrator user know if an update for the code has been released.

I am pleased to announce that the next build of GP Power Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP (GPPT) is now available for download.
GP Power Tools is the industry leading suite of tools to designed to make your Microsoft Dynamics GP life simpler and easier. Features have been specifically designed and created to enhance the user experience, simplify the administrator experience and provide power debugging and customisation tools to consultants and support engineers.
This is why GP Power Tools should be installed on every workstation of every Microsoft Dynamics GP system globally.
#BPST Batch Posting Service Toolkit build 7 released
I am pleased to announce that the next build of the Batch Posting Service Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics GP (BSPT) is now available for download.
The Batch Posting Service Toolkit provides service procedures to retrieve a list of Batch Numbers for a specified Batch Source and to post the batch for a specified Batch Source and Batch Number.
Use the tool to post newly integrated transaction batches real time using calls from Dexterity, Visual Studio Tools or as a Service Based Architecture (SBA) Web Service (for v14.0 or later).

This article is to announce a new build of the Visual Studio Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics GP (VSIT) is now available for download.
This new build coincides with the change in ordering and support for Visual Studio Integration Toolkit. From now on, Winthrop Development Consultants is handling all distribution and support for Visual Studio Integration Toolkit directly. Mekorma will no longer be involved with this free product.

Today’s article comes after a GP Power Tools customer asked for the ability to track when the Credit Limit on a Customer Master record was changed.
A user of the system had made changes to a customer’s credit limit without permission and the financial controller wanted to be notified if this ever happened again.

Two years later, some the early adopters of the tool are starting to receive warnings that their subscriptions have expired even if they have paid to renew their subscriptions.

I am please to announce that there will be GP Power Tools training offered by the GPUG Academy on the Monday before GPUG Summit 2017, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Another reason for the lack for articles recently is that I have been working on a hotfix for GP Power Tools.

A hotfix for GP Power Tools Build 22 was released on 19-Jun-2017. This release shows as Last Modified: 19-Jun-2017 on the About GP Power Tools window and the installer version is XX.00.0022.7.
I am off to #ReigniteGP 2017 in Gauteng, South Africa
Last night I boarded an airplane from Perth, Western Australia heading to Johannesburg, South Africa.
When this article is published, I will be somewhere flying over the Indian Ocean with a couple more hours before landing.
I am going to the ReigniteGP 2017 conference in Gauteng, Johannesburg and will spend a week with the South African Microsoft Dynamics GP community.

Identifying Triggers registered against a Table
Last week, I wrote about a situation which was causing issues with the Database Validation feature of GP Power Tools. Triggers on the ACTIVITY table that fired when records are deleted that attempt to clean up data in the company that the record is related to.
The problem is that if the current user does not have access to this company or company database does not exist or is not online, errors are generated and the code fails. This is discussed in my blog:

Make sure you try out Deny Based Security and Window Position Memory as these are features every Dynamics GP customer can use.
#GPPT Adding data from any SQL table to SOP Documents
Following on from my recent article, #GPPT Adding Vendor Item Number to SOP Documents, I thought it would be worth showing how we can use GP Power Tools custom Report Writer RW functions with a SQL Query to obtain any data available from any table on the SQL Server.
To make this happen we are going to combine the Runtime Execute Setup custom RW function code with a SQL script created in SQL Execute Setup. Note that these techniques, which have been available since June 2009, are completely Web Client compatible which makes them even more valuable now.
#GPPT Adding Vendor Item Number to SOP Documents
In my previous post, RW: Using the rw_TableLineString() and rw_TableLineCurrency() Report Writer functions, I mentioned the six report writer functions which can be used by developers to get custom data onto reports.
GP Power Tools takes advantage of these functions to allow the creation of custom Report Writer RW functions. In fact, this custom report writer function feature has been available since the release of the Support Debugging Tool build 11 in June 2009.

After months of work, I am extremely excited to announce that GP Power Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP (GPPT) Build 22 is now available for download. Please update your systems to get all the new features.
GP Power Tools was previously known as Support Debugging Tool (SDT), which was discontinued in October 2014. If you are still using the previous product, please upgrade to the supported and much better GP Power Tools product.
