As most of you know I am the developer of the Support Debugging Tool for Microsoft Dynamics GP (SDT).
The SDT has been provided free of charge to Partners and Customers (via their partners) in the Dynamics community since its release in September 2008. The tool and its feature set have come a long way from the public release of build 9 for GP versions 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0.
For those of you with Windows Phone 8.1 devices, you should now be comfortable working with Cortana, the personal digital assistant with attitude.
Well, Cortana is coming to Windows 10. In fact, if you have the latest Technical Preview of Windows 10 downloaded (as part of the Windows Insider program) you can already start playing with Cortana. Just make sure all the language and regional settings are set to US.
Overnight, Microsoft released the first build of Windows 10 Technical Preview for Phones to members of the Windows Insider Program.
Using the Windows Insider App on Windows Phone 8.1 you can register for the over the air updates. However, the update is not available to everyone yet as it has only been released for a subset of Lumia phones.
The Microsoft Dynamics Convergence blog recently posted an article about the extraordinary lineup of featured speakers for Microsoft Convergence 2015 Atlanta on 16th to 19th March 2015.
What it failed to mention is the “Dynamics Duo” would be back in person to spread knowledge and fun amongst the Microsoft Dynamics GP community.
Last month, the Microsoft Dynamics GP development team started a new blog on the Microsoft Dynamics GP Community website. This will now be the primary location for the Dynamics GP development and engineer team to communicate with the customer and partner community.

While I was away on leave, Microsoft had their recent “Windows 10: The Next Chapter” event. One of the coolest demonstrations was of the Microsoft HoloLens: A stand alone augmented reality holographic device.

If you have not heard already, at the recent “Windows 10: The Next Chapter” event, it was announced that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for all devices running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 for 12 months after its release.

I am back from my holiday and will be getting back to work after the long weekend on Tuesday.

It has been a while since my last post, but that has been because I have been in holiday mode.
Sadly, holiday mode does not just mean relaxing. Before Christmas and between Christmas and New Year and then for the first week of the new year, my family and I worked on sanding back the wooden decks (4 areas) around the pool in the back garden all the way to raw wood. We then acid washed the decks and repainted with a tint coat and two slip resistant finishing coats.
It is that time of year again and hasn’t it arrived quickly. I have been independent as Winthrop Development Consultants for 2 months now and been having a great time.
My trip to the USA for the reIMAGINE 2014 conference in Fargo, ND and to visit family in Florida was fantastic. I have been working on getting all my business processes organised and have been developing my standard template dictionary.
