Yes, corny jokes aside, it is 04-May-2015 and the geeks and nerds of the world are uniting for Star Wars Day 2015.
While I was originally born in London, England (yep, I’m a Pom*), everyone knows that I come from Australia. My family emigrated to Perth when I was 13 and I have had the operation to naturalise me as an Australian.
Probably due to my English background and the fact that accents in Perth are not strong, I don’t have a strong Australian accent (Not like Paul Hogan’s Crocodile Dundee character – watch trailer or Steve Irwin real character – watch trailer). However, I do use some different words and sometimes use Australian slang or abbreviations.
After last week’s puzzle, I came across something a little harder that has been keeping people awake at night.
Singaporean high-school students were presented with this logic problem in the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad test paper last week. The test is aimed at the top 40 per cent of students in one of the most mathematically gifted countries in the world.
It has been many years since my BlackBox game got a mention and so I thought it was time to bring it up again.
I first wrote the game BlackBox for Dexterity in 1999 while I operated as Winthrop Dexterity Consultants. The game is based the original board game by Eric Solomon and was created with his kind permission.
Recently a puzzle has been doing the rounds on the Book of Face and I thought it would be good to test how quickly my readers could solve it. It is probably an oldie, but it is a goodie.
The puzzle is the Car Park Puzzle where you have to work out the missing number for the bay where the car is.

There has been lots happening over the last few days and I wanted to highlight a some of the news.

Hello to all the fans of the features and functionality offered by the Support Debugging Tool, who disliked the name of the tool.
After consultation with the community, the Microsoft Dynamics GP MVPs (especially Mark Polino, he has always wanted the name changed) as well as polls on this blog, I am pleased to finally announce the new name for the Support Debugging Tool.
If you didn’t know, I collect dragon statues and figurines of all shapes, sizes, types and materials.
I now have over 180 of them ranging from a tiny pewter figurine of 1.2cm to a hand made stuffed toy of 70cm. They are made from all sorts of materials including: pewter, stone, glass, clay, resin, plastic, wood, rope, jade, amber and even coal.
Monday 26th January is Australia Day for 2015.
This is a time for Australians to reflect on how lucky we are to live in the “Lucky Country”. For many it is also a time to relax with the family on the public holiday.
For the last few years, it has also been used as a great time to promote having a party with friends and cooking lamb chops on the BBQ.

It has been a while since my last post, but that has been because I have been in holiday mode.
Sadly, holiday mode does not just mean relaxing. Before Christmas and between Christmas and New Year and then for the first week of the new year, my family and I worked on sanding back the wooden decks (4 areas) around the pool in the back garden all the way to raw wood. We then acid washed the decks and repainted with a tint coat and two slip resistant finishing coats.
