Recently Steve Endow MVP asked on Twitter if there was a simple solution for moving SOP Transactions from one batch to another batch.

This is something that is easily solved as a Self Service script using the GP Power Tools – Developer Tools module. In fact, I had already created a solution for the same request for a customer in Australia using GP Power Tools. I spoke to the customer, Anand, and he said he was happy for me to post the code on the blog.

If you are using GP Power Tools, Batch Posting Service Toolkit, or Visual Studio Integration Toolkit and are having registration issues there is most probably a very simple solution.

This article assumes that your GP Power Tools or Batch Posting Service Toolkit subscriptions are current. Visual Studio Integration Toolkit has free modules for which their subscription is always current.

About seven weeks ago, my good friend, fellow MVP & GPUG All-Star, blogger and past co-presenter, Shawn Dorward‘s life was turned upside down when his eighteen year old son, Taylor was involved in a drowning accident.

Thanks to Taylor’s friends and the emergency teams, Taylor survived but has suffered significant brain damage. He is now on the long road to recovery and making great progress.

#GPPT GP Power Tools build 25 released

Winthrop Development Consultants is pleased to announce Build 25 of release of GP Power Tools (GPPT) for Microsoft Dynamics GP was released on 10-Jul-2018. [Edit: This was followed by a hotfix released on 17-Jul-2018 to resolve an issue discovered after the main release.]

This build incorporates further improvements to the underlying Registration and Update Check systems required for the transition of the distribution channel to Winthrop Development Consultants. It also includes some enhancements and bug fixes.

#GPPT Unhandled Script Exception: Script Missing

Today, I had a report that the latest build 25.1 release of GP Power Tools was causing an Unhandled Script Exception error when opening certain windows within Microsoft Dynamics GP.

I was able to replicate the issue and have released a 25.2 hotfix which resolves the problem.

For the latest versions of Microsoft Dynamics GP, only supported releases (build 30 or later) can be registered, but it is recommended to be on the latest build (build 33).

I am back from my travels. I will eventually write some blogs about my Camino de Santiago trip in northern Spain soon. In the meantime, here is a quick summary:

15 days – 13 days riding with 2 rest days
832km from Saint Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain
12,880m of climbing including 3 mountain peaks
98 hours in the saddle, moving for 61 hours
Maximum speed 67km/h, total average speed 13.7km/h
One major crash (wasn’t me and team mate was OK)
Two people with Hypothermia (it was meant to be summer)
Photo and Video files: 1235 from Camera, 1672 from GoPro & 76 from Phone
Hours to sort said Photo and Video files: too many to consider 🙂
