I grew up in the United Kingdom and one of the funniest programs on television was “The Two Ronnies” with Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker.
If you have not heard Ronnie Corbett passed away last Thursday at the age of 85.
At yesterday’s political rally at the FargoDome in Fargo, North Dakota, USA, Republican party nominee for the position of President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, promised all US companies will be mandated to use Microsoft Dynamics GP for their financial management system when he is elected.
This fantastic news for Microsoft comes as Mr Trump reveals that the only businesses of his that have actually succeeded were those using Microsoft Dynamics GP.
The topic of today’s Friday Funny is something that I have always noticed when I visit the USA. I try not to comment anymore on the various differences in language as it is too late to change anything now.
I believe it was George Bernard Shaw who said “England and America are two countries separated by the same language.”.
The Vasa was a Swedish warship built between 1626 and 1628. The ship foundered and sank after sailing about 1,300 metres (1,400 yards) into her maiden voyage on 10th August 1628.
There are a number of lessons that can be learnt from the design, building and testing phases of the ship building process that could be applied to today’s software development world.
I came across this funny maths puzzle recently. This time it has the answer with it, so you don’t need to work it out.
However, it does have a moral to go with it. 🙂

I found this newly released video from Swedish band Wintergatan.
Martin Molin designed and built the musical marble machine over 14 months and composed the music for the video. The machine uses 2000 marbles and has 3000 parts.

I thought it needed to be shared as it is funny to the database administrators and developers among us, but also highlights an important issue.
