Over the last couple of weeks, I posted two Flower themed algebra maths puzzles. The first was fairly straight forward with only a little tricky bit.
However, the second one was intentionally designed to make it difficult for you to get the correct answer.

This morning I started my journey to the USA for Epic Trip number 2.
But I could not resist giving you another maths puzzle that has been doing the rounds on the Book of Face.
This one I am calling a sequence puzzle as you need to work out the sequence and so work out the formula that gives you the answer. Once you have that the final solution is easy.
Knowing how much fun it is to challenge my readers to solve silly puzzles, I found another one for you.
This one is a horse themed algebra problem that should be fairly easy to solve as long as you read it carefully.

The game has had both positive and negative feedback in the mass media, but primarily has been responsible for getting many people out and about walking around, getting fit and interacting with others.
But if you don’t own an Android or Apple device, you have been unable to join the fun…. or have you?
You might have seen music played by devices with stepper motors before. You know, moving the drive head on a floppy drive or the print head on a dot matrix printer to play a simple tune.
Well, Paweł Zadrożniak from Poland has taken it to the next level with his mad creation, The Floppotron 2.0.
As promised when I posted the recent maths related Friday Funny articles, I would credit the source of the puzzles (at least where I found them).
The reason, I waited until after posting all 3 of the puzzles was that once you know where the site was, you would probably have found the puzzles and their solutions.

Hopefully, most of you (as tech savvy readers of my blog) are aware of the “Microsoft support” or “Windows support” scams that are still catching people. The scam comes in a couple of variants, but the end result is the same…. They get money or personal data from you.
If you enjoyed last week’s mathematical challenge, Friday Funny: 6 The Hard Way, this challenge steps it up a level. This challenge from the internet adds a ten minute time limit to see how far you can get while under pressure.

Today’s Friday Funny comes from something I saw on the internet. I would normally give credit to my source, but as that will also give away the solutions, I will wait until later when I post the solutions.

A friend of mine posted the first video in this article on the Book of Face last week and I wanted to share it because it is really clever.
The video takes the traditional domino toppling idea and turns it on its head with Marbominoes using marbles, ball bearings and magnets. The creator, Kaplamino, shows many different techniques and keeps you asking “What’s next?”.
This is for everyone who works with or lives with a software developer.
My wife has long since learnt to leave me alone when I am in programming mode, even when I walk away from the computer to grab a drink or remember to eat (5 hours after meal time). She does not like being groaned at when she makes me lose my “train of thought”.

Many years ago (in fact, in September 1999 … I found the file in my archives), I heard a very funny wave file (remember .wav, that was before .mp3 was common) called “The Knack”. It was about a mother taking their child, Dilbert, to the doctor because “he’s not like other kids”.
Well, I was recently sent a link to the actual video clip that the sound file came from and yes it was from the cartoon, Dilbert by Scott Adams.
