Winthrop Development Consultants is pleased to announce Build 13 of Batch Posting Service Toolkit (BPST) for Microsoft Dynamics GP was released on 21-Aug-2023.
This build includes improvements to the registration and installer systems.
Community Summit 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA is fast approaching. David Musgrave from Winthrop Development Consultants will be running two extremely valuable training courses and now it is time to register.
The conference will be held on the 15th to 20th October 2023. There will be pre-conference training in the week before, from 9th to 13th October 2023, as well as Academy days on the first two days of the conference itself.
This mathematics problem has been going around the internet recently and most of the answers I have seen for it published in comments, blogs and videos are actually incorrect. While the equation is stated in a deliberately ambiguous way, it can only have one correct answer and that is not the answer that most of the articles and videos provide.

Over the last six months since GP Power Tools Build 29.4 was released, we have been making a concerted effort to get our customers updated onto supported versions of our products. In fact, only the last two builds numbers for each of our products can renew their subscriptions, and any older versions will stop functioning when they expire and cannot be renewed without updating to the current build.
While you are allowed to register the previous build numbers of our products, you will be missing out on over 2 years of development and all the new features and fixes your subscription entitles you to. You will also be subject to the Security Vulnerability discovered. For this reason, we are requesting that all customers ensure they are on the very latest code for their version of Dynamics GP.

You probably know that I have been mentoring robotics for the students at All Saints College in Perth for many years now. My kids are all grown up, have completed university degrees and have been working full time in industry for a few years already, but I love helping the engineers of tomorrow get excited about building and programming robots. Today, I was asked by a consultant how to parse specific data out of the record note associated with a transaction or master record in Microsoft Dynamics GP using a SQL Server query.
GP uses the SY_Record_Notes_MSTR (SY03900) Record Notes Master table to store a text field of up to 32767 characters linked to master or transaction record using the Note Index (NOTEINDX) field. The next available Note Index is stored in the SY_Company_MSTR (SY01500) Company Master in the system (DYNAMICS) database and is assigned to new records when they are created.
Today I was asked if the GP Power Tools Automatic Logout functionality can be used to automatically logout other external applications, for example: SalesPad For GP from Cavallo.
My initial answer was that it was not possible as the Automatic Logout functionality provided in GP Power Tools is Dexterity based and does not have the ability to affect other applications.
But then I thought about it some more and …
