For the Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP developers out there, I am pleased to announce that the next build of the Visual Studio Integration Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics GP (VSIT) is now available for download.
The Visual Studio Integration Toolkit was previously known as Menus for Visual Studio Tools (MVST), which was discontinued in October 2014. If you are still using the previous product, please upgrade to the supported product.
I am pleased to announce that the next build of the Batch Posting Service Toolkit for Microsoft Dynamics GP (BSPT) is now available for download.
The Batch Posting Service Toolkit provides service procedures to retrieve a list of Batch Numbers for a specified Batch Source and to post the batch for a specified Batch Source and Batch Number.
It is designed to be used to post newly integrated batches of transactions real time and can be called via Dexterity, Visual Studio Tools or as a Service Based Architecture (SBA) Web Service (for v14.0 or later).
I know I have been quiet on the blog over the last few weeks, but this is because I have been working hard on developing the new builds for the Winthrop Development Consultants products.
These builds will add support for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 as well as add some new features and enhancements to the products.
GP Power Tools (like its predecessor, The Support Debugging Tool) has a feature where it can change the background colors of the Dynamics GP application depending on the company you are logged into.
This functionality work perfectly on the Dynamics GP desktop client, but does not work on the Web Clients (both Silverlight and HTML5 versions).
I came across an interesting issue yesterday when I installed Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 and its matching Dexterity 16.0 version.
When installing Dexterity I received an error message which in turn caused the installation process to be cancelled.
Note: We have skipped version 15.0, so that GP 2016 is version 16.0. This avoids the confusion we have had previously with the version “year” not matching the version “number”.
I have just received an email from my friend Terry Heley from Microsoft letting me know that Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 has now been released to general availability and can be downloaded (my download is already completed 🙂 ).
Thanks to everyone who has made this release possible. Lots of hard work goes into getting all the new features and fixes developed and tested.
At the beginning of the month, I posted an article announcing the new GPUG Amplify conference being held at the Marriott Anaheim, in Anaheim, California, USA on 23rd to 25th May 2016.
The launch of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 is getting closer.
A good sign that the release is approaching is the publishing of the schedule of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 upgrade blog articles.
