Recently, Rob Anderson and I presented the “What’s New in Dexterity for GP 2010 R2” session at the Microsoft Dynamics GP Technical Conference in Fargo, so I thought I’d share some of that information with you through a series of posts. One question that comes up a fair amount of the time is around using and saving information with the Control Panel applet for Dexterity Source Code Control especially on machines that have UAC (User Account Control) turned on so I thought I’d tackle that topic first.

Dexterity DSCCS 2010 RTM should not be used

Several weeks ago, an ISV posted to the forums that he had thrown caution to the window and upgraded his Dexterity DSCCS 7.5 to DSCCS 2010. The install went OK for him (unlike my own install that I discussed in a previous post) but what he found was that he wasn’t able to check in resources with Dexterity using this version.

While many Dexterity developers are now using Source Code Control (usually with Microsoft Visual Source Safe), there are a number of developers that did not know that an index file should always be used with Source Code Control.
