I have been asked a couple of times recently about how to copy the Company Color Themes for a test environment, so I thought I would document the answer in a blog article.
GP Power Tools has the ability to change the background colors within Microsoft Dynamics GP for each company. This feature currently only works for the desktop client, if you want it to work in the web client, vote for this MS Connect product suggestion.
At the reIMAGINE 2016 and GPUG Summit 2016 conferences, I promised that a new build of GP Power Tools was coming and that it would have lots of great features.

Well, I have been working hard and have now completed the coding phase of the development. I will now be working on updating the documentation in preparation for the release of the build.
In the last eight years, there have been an increasing number of display issues when using Microsoft Dynamics GP on high resolution monitors. There are a number of different factors coming into play which cause Dynamics GP to display incorrectly.
This article explains the issues, their causes and their solutions and finally explains how GP Power Tools makes the solutions extremely simple to implement.
[Edit] FYI: Build 29 of GP Power Tools automatically applies the fixes during installation. If installing on a Terminal Server, make sure to use Install Mode (see below) so that the settings are rolled out to all users.

A couple of days ago GP Power Tools turned ten years old.
On the 30th August 2006, I decided to create a tool to help identify the cause of a non-reproducible error that was the issue reported in a long running, escalated support case.
This was the first build of the “MBS Support Debugging Tool“.
The first build of GP Power Tools (Build 20) was released at the start of August 2015 and so we are now into the second year of its release.
This means that the early adopters of GP Power Tools are approaching their subscription expiry dates and some customers are now receiving warning messages about their subscription.

Each time a new build of GP Power Tools is released (currently Build 33), it comes with new features and functionality and enhancements to existing features. Build 21 introduced the three modules (Administrator Tools, Developer Tools, Database Tools) which can be registered separately along with the required System Module. Build 31 adds a new fourth Form Control Tools module. This allows users to only purchase the parts of the product that they want to use.
I am pleased to announce that the next build of GP Power Tools for Microsoft Dynamics GP (GPPT) is now available for download.
GP Power Tools was previously known as Support Debugging Tool (SDT), which was discontinued in October 2014. If you are still using the previous product, please upgrade to the supported and much better GP Power Tools product.
