To celebrate the holidays, Microsoft employees, who were selected from across the country, gathered together, meeting each other for the first time, at the new Microsoft 5th Avenue Store in New York City, New York, USA to spread some holiday wishes. Joined by a local NYC children’s youth choir, they share a message of peace and harmony with their neighbour down the street.
Came across these videos which I think you will enjoy.
Rollin’ Wild asks the question:
If all animals became round overnight, would their daily life still run that smoothly?
While David was away in the USA and Mexico, I got to accompany Rohan to the RoboCup Junior Australia 2015 National Championships on 26th and 27th September 2015. You may know from past blogs that robotics has been a bit of a hobby for David and our sons. This year, being in the National Competition meant travelling to Gawler, South Australia.
Here is another mathematical puzzle for you.
This was recently asked in a Year 12 Further Maths exam in Victoria, Australia.
It was a multiple choice question, so I thought I would have a poll to see how well you can answer the question.
With the recent launch of the fourth generation of the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet PC, I thought would be fun to remember back to early days of tablet computing.
These fun images are just a reminder that Microsoft has always been the visionary company when it comes to tablets.
Following on from last Friday’s post: Friday Funny: What is AFL? Aussie Rules Explained, I thought it would be worth posting something about Australia’s favourite Summer sport…. Cricket.
Cricket is played all over the world but predominately in countries with an English heritage as it is the Brits who invented the sport.
Today, I start my flights to the USA for reIMAGINE 2015 in Fargo, ND and GPUG Summit 2015 in Reno, NV. By the time this article posts I will have already left Perth and be coming in to land in Sydney.
As is customary when I visit the US, I will be bringing some of Australia with me (usually in the form of edible treats). In this article, I thought I would bring some Australian sports knowledge to my overseas readers.
I feel a great disturbance in the Thumb. You might remember the movie Kung Pow! Enter The Fist by Steve Oedekek, a parody of B grade martial movies that is funny in its absurdity.
Well, I recently came across an article which highlighted some of Steve’s previous work with his series of thumb parodies of well known movies.
Today’s Friday Funny is something to see if you can remember your high school algebra.
The following mathematical proof suggests that 2 = 1, which would definitely cause some issues with the accounting type people out there.
So the question is:
“What’s wrong with this mathematical proof?”
I am a bit late getting this blog post written, but I have been extremely busy with the release of my first commerical product, GP Power Tools, as well as other development work that was pushed back to allow me to complete the product launch.
So, on top of all the development work I have been doing, I have been continuing with my volunteer role as mentor for the All Saints’ College Robotics Club. The club meets after school every Friday afternoon during term time for one and a half to two hours and currently has about 30 students attending.
The results of the last year’s worth of work by the students was put to the test at the RoboCup Junior Australia 2015 WA State Championships held at Curtin University Stadium on the 7th and 8th of August.
