As mentioned yesterday, I am heading to Johannesburg, South Africa for the User Group World Tour 2019 conference and will be offering Dexterity training afterwards.
However, I will also be offering a day of free GP Power Tools training (available to registered conference attendees) during the pre conference Workshop day on Tuesday 11th June 2019.

After the conference I have been asked by a customer to run Dexterity Training for some of their staff and so this has been planned to run in the week following the conference. Additional, but limited room, is available at this training and so I am opening this up to any partner or customer who can attend.
Dexterity is the development environment that Microsoft Dynamics GP is built on and the best tool to use for any customisation to the user interface of the product. Knowledge of Dexterity is vital for anyone customising Dynamics GP even when using other languages such as C#, VB.Net and even VBA (Visual Basic for Application).
This training is being offered at a special reduced price and I cannot guarantee that there will be another opportunity to receive this training in the region or at this price.
You might have seen my posts on Twitter and Facebook recently about my new toy mini laptop PC, the crowd funded GPD Pocket 2.
I have been burnt before with crowd funded projects (I supported 3 smartwatches and only one make it to production and it under-delivered 🙁 ), so I was wary of getting involved again. However, this was the second generation of the GPD Pocket and demo devices had already been delivered to a number of YouTube reviewers. After a fantastic few days leading up to the conference, the first day of GPUG Amplify South Africa 2018 has finally arrived.
Jennifer accompanied me on the first day to help Angie Ryan and Katie Froeber with registration and then be there later for the end of the day when there were cocktails.
I will explain more in an article soon, but I will need to be relatively brief with my coverage of the GPUG Amplify South Africa 2018 conference. Needless to say Jennifer and I had a fantastic time in South Africa.
From my perspective, it was wonderful to have my wife along for the trip so she could meet some of the great people I work with… my “Conference Buddies”. That’s what I call my friends in the Microsoft Dynamics GP community that I only catch up with at conferences.
Early in the morning of Wednesday 16th May, my wife, Jennifer, and I will be getting onto a flight to South Africa to attend the GPUG Amplify South Africa 2018 conference being held on the 21st and 22nd of May 2018 in Johannesburg.
We are looking forward to catching up with friends in the Microsoft Dynamics GP community in Africa and also with the other international guests coming to the conference.

This is another one of those “Musgravian” principles.
When I train people on Dexterity I show them a better method to set indexed ranges than the style you will often see in older code or by developers who have not yet been “converted”.
