As mentioned on my article Great Vic Bike Ride 2019 – Where is David? He is riding the Great Ocean Road, my wife Jennifer and I are off on an adventure cycling with 5,000 other like minded people across the beautiful south coast of Australia.
Jennifer will be riding a road bike tandem as pilot along with our vision impaired friend Meredith as stoker, and I will be supporting them as domestique on my single bike.
Below is an excerpt from the ride page located here for today’s section:
This will be a good day to hit the road early to really soak up the morning coastal views on the way out of Port Fairy. Prepare the legs for a pinch climb up to Tower Hill, but don’t worry, the 10/10 views make it worth the effort.
Be sure to take a break for a few postcard worthy snaps at Hopkins Falls before reaching the Great Ocean Road and taking in all the sites on the way to Peterborough including Bay of Islands, Worm Bay and Bay of Martyrs.
Once in Peterborough, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the Great Ocean Road’s most iconic and famous attractions, with beautiful coastal views and a must do coastal walk that takes you all the way back to Bay of Martyrs.
Enjoy
David
