While we are highlighting videos of really cool technology from Microsoft, a video on Hololens Holoportation was recently published and it also shows amazing possibilities.

Microsoft Research have taken the three dimensional camera technology to capture people and objects in an environment and combined this with the Augmented Reality ability of the Microsoft Hololens to display the captured virtual people and objects in your field of view at a remote location.

This concept looks very much like the communications holograms we have seen in the Star Wars movies… but now for real and not blue monochrome and fuzzy.
