Microsoft Dynamics GP Application Level Security Series
This is a reposting of an article I originally wrote on my Developing for Dynamics GP blog.
For the next couple of weeks, I have decided to focus on Microsoft Dynamics GP application level security and methods for resolving security related issues.
Where possible I will also show how using the Support Debugging Tool for Microsoft Dynamics GP (now replaced by GP Power Tools) can make the process simpler and quicker.

How can one get a report of all users that have access to anything in Payroll (the task category 'Payroll')? With Support Debugger Tool, it looks like you have to identify each window or report. There is a Security Task Assignment report in GP where you can restrict by task category, but it renders a blank report (not blank when by task ID).
Ideas?

Try changing the view on the right pane of the Security Information window, you can then expand payroll tasks and roles and see who has access.

Hi David,
I know this post is quite old and has be revisited several times since then, but I'm still trying to find some useful information about the Account Level Security in GP… I've located the tables in the system DB (GLxxxxxFx and ORG10000), but no real report that shows you how many GL accounts are assigned to which level and which accounts doesn't have ACS assigned… Are you aware about anything existing for this ? Any documentation aside of the scarce one that comes with GP ?
